Questions & Answers:

1. What is "looping"?

"Looping," or "Group ADR" is the process in which a small group of actors jump onto a soundstage to voice background characters, off-camera characters, character revoices, and provide "efforts" for on-camera actors.

2. How much does looping pay?

Loop Group Actors are billed as SAG-AFTRA Dayplayers, and make scale, (currently $1158/session). Loop Group Actors are also paid residuals as if they were on-camera in the project.

3. How hard is it to loop?

Looping combines terrific acting skills + improvisation skills + technical knowledge of how to work in a group. Loop group actors must know terms and formations that are used on the soundstage, what volume is appropriate for each scene's environment, and how to prepare for a session.
